Day 1 London/Zurich/St Moritz
British Airways flight to Zurich, and then journey (approx. four hours) by first class rail on the beautiful route to the world famous resort of St Moritz at 5,978 feet. Stay in St Moritz at the Monopol in a Standard room for three nights.
Day 2 to Day 3 St Moritz
Time here to explore, perhaps go up to the spectacular Corvatsch glacier, visit the Swiss National Park or take the Bernina Express to Italy for the day. The Engadine St Moritz All Inclusive entitles visitors to unlimited use of all buses, mountain railways, cable cars and gondolas throughout the Engadine/St Moritz which gives you the freedom to explore the surrounding mountains. Other exciting activities to enjoy in St Moritz include nordic walking, white-water rafting and sailing.
Day 4 St Moritz/Zermatt
Today is the highlight of your trip, the famous Glacier Express – the slowest express train in the world, from St Moritz to the Alpine village of Zermatt (approx. eight hours) with lunch on board (included). This must surely be one of the world's most spectacular train journeys – crossing 291 bridges and 91 tunnels, through the stunning scenery of the Upper Rhine, known as the 'Swiss Grand Canyon' and over the 6,700 feet Oberalp Pass. On arrival in Zermatt transfer to your hotel the Beau Site Park for three nights in a Standard room.
Day 5 to Day 6 Zermatt
Explore one of the world's most popular winter and summer mountain resorts at the foot of the awe-inspiring Matterhorn. Under the imposing mass of the Matterhorn take an optional trip on the Gornergrat cog-railway up to 10,000 feet or take Europe's highest cable car ride to Klein Matterhorn at 12,530 feet, to enjoy the most spectacular views. For an unforgettable experience, prebook a scenic helicopter flight and soar over glaciers up to the Matterhorn for a close encounter with this iconic mountain.
Day 7 Zermatt/Montreux
Another imposing train journey (approx. three hours), along the Rhone valley to the Swiss Riviera resort of Montreux on sparkling Lake Geneva. A two night stay at the charming Rene Capt hotel in a Standard room.
Day 8 Montreux
Explore the cosmopolitan resort of Montreux. Lake Geneva is the largest lake in Switzerland and a trip on one of the old paddle steamers is a 'must'. The Chocolate Train is a trip not to be missed during your stay in Montreux. Travel in the first class carriages from Montreux to the picturesque village of Gruyere and the nearby town of Broc where you visit the Cailler-Nestle chocolate factory. (Every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday in Jun, Sept and Oct and Monday to Friday in Jul and Aug.)
Day 9 Montreux/Geneva/London
Travel about 45 minutes to Geneva airport for your British Airways flight home.
