Switzerland has one of the most efficient and comprehensive rail networks in Europe, so sit back and enjoy travelling between some of the country's most iconic resorts on two of Switzerland's most famous, scenic lines. Pass by some of Europe's most dramatic scenery that includes enormous snowcapped peaks, mighty glaciers, flowery alpine meadows and beautiful sparkling lakes. 

DAY 1 British Airways flight from Heathrow to Zurich. Your rail journey begins through magnificent green meadows and breathtaking mountain valleys to the canton of Graubunden, in the east of the country. Your journey ends in the resort of Davos, where upon arrival, a short stroll will take you to the four star Meierhof Hotel for a three night stay in a Standard room.

DAY 2  Enjoy the next couple of days at leisure exploring Davos, Europe's highest city, and its surrounding countryside. Graubunden boasts over 8,000 miles of hiking and biking trails, many passing spectacular mountain lakes and through idyllic alpine meadows.

DAY 4 Depart Davos onboard the famous 'Bernina Express', one of Switzerland's premier rail journeys. Traverse magnificent mountain viaducts, through amazing switchback tunnels and across the 2,2S3 metre Bernina Pass. The section between Thusis and Tirano has been classed as a UN ESCQ World Heritage site. The journey finishes across the Italian border in Tirano, from where a scenic bus ride returns you to Switzerland and the stunning lakeside town of lugano, for a three night stay at the four star Parco Paradiso hotel in a Suite.

DAY 5 The next two days are at leisure to explore Lugano, the 'Monte Carlo of Switzerland' in the very Italian feeling Swiss region of Ticino. The city is justly famed for its beautiful setting on the picturesque shores of Lake t.ugano, spend your time wandering the city's sophisticated streets or enjoying the outdoor lifestyle on the water or exploring the surrounding hills.

DAY 7  leaving beautiful lugano behind, continue by train to locarno, from where you will change to another of Switzerland's famous trains, the 'Centovalli'. Another trans-frontier journey w see you travel from Lake Maggiol into Italy and through dramatic canyons, sleepy villages and den and verdant forests, before returning to Switzerland and the terminus at Brig. Connect on by train to Zermatt, one of Switzerland's most exciting mountain resorts, nestled dramatically in the lee of the fearsome, craggy peak of the Matterhorn. Enjoy a three night stay at the four star Park Hotel Beau Site In a Standard Hillside room. 

DAY 8 The next two days are at leisure to explore this most famous of Swiss mountain resort Some of the area's challenging hikes Include the famous Haute Route and you can ride Europe's highest cable car to the spectacular Klein Matterhorn. 

DAY 10 One final journey on the fabulously efficient Swiss railway takes you through scenic alpine valleys and along the shore of Lake Geneva to Geneva. Upon arrival at the airport, board your return British Airways flight to London Heathrow
